As co-convener of the ALIA Sustainable Libraries Group, I have always tried to champion working towards a greener and more sustainable future both the libraries I have worked in and also at home. I believe we still have a long way to go.
Jack Walter Kelly

Jack (he/him) is ALIA Green’s National Secretary and ALIA SNGG’s National Convenor. Jack is currently working within the Digitisation team at the Society of Australian Genealogists in Sydney. Previously, worked in the urban development sector as an Urban Planner in Australia, Cambodia and Nepal. He has a Bachelor of Science in (Human Geography) from the University of Wollongong, a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Sydney and a Graduate Diploma of Information Studies from Charles Sturt University. Jack joined ALIA Green in July. He is passionate about libraries, sustainability and local history, connecting people to information and preserving knowledge for future generations. An avid reader, who enjoys listening to podcasts and music; watching films; attending GLAMR events; meditating, yoga and traveling. He looks forward to building new connections with people in the sector and advancing curiosity, information sharing and networking opportunities.
