Join the conversation on sustainable libraries and climate empowerment at ALIA National

Mar 5, 2024 | Adelaide, ALIA, Climate Change, Events, Katalin Mindum, Libraries, professional development, sustainability

Those who attended the ALIA Greening Libraries Conference in November 2023 will recall Dr. Jane Garner speaking about green library practice and reminding us that if we are working with the same tools and trying to achieve the same outcomes as each other, we will have a much stronger capacity to work together, to learn together, and to celebrate our achievements together.

Libraries are encouraged to get more meaningfully involved in greening practices; and we as a sector can contribute to positive lifestyle changes to benefit the planet as well as using libraries as green educational hubs.

There is opportunity to collaborate in the development of tools and guidelines that we can all use and adapt, and that will help us all move together towards sustainability goals and achievements. To move towards these goals, we need to move together. This way libraries can be recognised as valuable partners in the design and implementation of national strategies for sustainable practice.

Be part of the action and join preliminary conversations at the ALIA National Conference or register your interest in joining the ALIA Green Group.
